a good time was had by all

Judi and I made it through the first day of von Zedwitz Life Master Pairs without too much trouble.  We were having a pretty good game in the afternoon when I lost my focus and had the devil’s own time getting it back.  Our 57% dropped to dead average under the weight of six consecutive zeros, but a rest over the dinner break served me well and I managed to pay pretty reasonable attention at night.

I’ve set for myself the goal of entering only two events in the seven days I’m planning to play.  In order to do that, I’ll have to make the third day of the LM Pairs and the final of the Women’s Knockout.  Ambitious.  We’ll see how it goes, I’ll definitely keep you posted.

How awesome was the GNT team from Minnesota (Peg Kaplan, Bill Kent, Bob and Cindy Balderson, Carole Miner and Paul Meerschaert) clobbering the defenders (Berkowitz-Cohen, Meckwell, Spector-Becker)?  They lost yesterday to a team of New Yorkers (Justin, NPC; Bob and Shane Blanchard, Joe Grue, Kevin Bathhurst, John Hurd, Brian Glubock). Great job, Minnesota. Peggy, you’re my hero!
