Loading ...down to the wire
I’ve been obsessed, as you might imagine, with the World Championships. I watched USA v. Denmark go down to the wire in the Quarterfinals in Beijing; the American women advanced to the Semi-Final match against China. They finished the first 16 boards up 40, but lost a bunch back over the course of the next 32 so that they came into the second day of play down six. Back on top after Judi and Sylvia and Janice and Tobi went in for a bonus round this morning, pasting the Chinese national team 34-11 to regain the lead and a good bit of momentum.
The children and I had a grand adventure this afternoon, crunched a zillion leaves of every persuasion, walked several miles for a grilled cheese sandwich and an ice cream, took the train home in time for naps. I’m off to catch a little sleep now, back for the last set.
