four games in four days

Four games, three cities, two flight delays and 700 miles in the car over the last four days.  Won two of the games, lost two.  It’s absolutely exhausting having this much fun.

I love Busch Stadium. The new Busch Stadium, of course, was the center of the (baseball) universe when the Cubs took the field against the hometown St. Louis Cardinals this weekend. George drove the convertible, the weather was fantastic and the Cubs won the series against St. Louis.  It was great to see my family and spend some time in the sun.

Potstickers at the ball park?  How about Build-A-Bear, Hardees, Ben & Jerry’s, Dippin Dots, Funnel Cakes, BBQ.  47,000 lucky baseball fans a day in St. Louis.  Can’t make your own Fredbird at Wrigley, that’s for sure.  The new Busch Stadium is an unbelievable place.  Next time you’re in the neighborhood, do check it out.

Suit combo flashcards, Mike Lawrence on counting, re-reading that recent set of notes.  Adding some practices with Sue into the mix and starting to think about packing — ten days till Vegas.  You wouldn’t believe all the other stuff I have to do between now and then …

I have been to many of the parks. I was in St Louis for the Tiger World Series in 06. It was great - the stadium, the location, the transportation.
I consider the others that are close to be Texas and Baltimore. I have not yet been to Colorado, SF, Milw, Hous or SD. Tor is the king of the indoor places I have seen.
Det, Cle, Fenway, all nice as is Wrigley.
Yankee Stadium easily the most over-rated. Horrid location, bad sight lines.
Oakland also awful and Minn not good.

Red - what do you enjoy more? The ballgame or the junk food? :) :)

Lucky that I didn’t go with you! Attempting desperately to lose at least 3.7 lbs…. and it seems that if I read about funnel cakes and cheeseburgers another pound gets attached to my torso.

Ah, well. Fun to read all about your escapades, that’s for sure!

I’ll see your 3.7 and raise you a kilo, Bundy. Gwenyth Paltrow once said something like “When my ass looks like I want it to, my face is a little gaunt.”

Have only been to a few ballparks — both Chicago venues, now Busch. Houston (oh man did we rock the World Series!), Atlanta. How cool is this: in Atlanta they have a parking lot only for Lexuses. Paid for by the Atlanta-area Lexus dealers, free parking for your Lexus. I love that.

One of these summers we’ll take some time off to catch a few more stadiums. Next summer San Remo, the summer after St Petersburg. Maybe the summer after that …

  4. Peg Says:

Those Lexus dealers ain’t dumb, sweetie!

And the good news is - you have loads and loads of summers ahead of you….
