George and I went to see Stan yesterday; he’s continuing the quick recovery and it was absolutely wonderful to spend a little time with him.  Then we went and watched the White Sox fail pretty miserably against Oakland.  This morning we’re dashing to St. Louis to catch a couple of Cubs-Cardinals games and spend some time with my mother.  Looking forward to a little bit of sun on my (weary) shoulders; think I’ll read the Vanity Fair article about Bear Stearns on the drive over.

I got a kick out of this month’s ACBL Bulletin, the cover headline reads “Moscow to Irkutsk — One Deal at a Time.”  There it is, the Trans-Siberian Railway.  Weren’t we just talking about that train a couple of weeks ago?
