so far today was winning the 8am Speedball with Judi. We were plus 29.5 after the first four boards, and finally managed to scrape together another half an imp to win with +30 (for twelve boards). I’ve just about finished updating our notes and I’m studying the Mike Lawrence programs like crazy. No matter what happens in Las Vegas, at least I’ll have done my best to prepare.
I am definitely guilty of underestimating how hard it is to change the way I think; and increasingly I see it’s as much a function of how I listen as anything else. It’s hard to separate frustration from confusion — getting it wrong is inherently frustrating and while I’m busy pouting and feeling frustrated I’m not paying sufficient attention to what’s caused me to go wrong in the first place. Still and always about clearing out the mental junk …
Looking forward to a couple of practice days next week, see if I can get my head in the game. And experience for myself this Florida heat that you all tell me I’ll absolutely hate.
