motor city
It’s cold here in Detroit — really cold, in fact. We arrived in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after too many hours on the road. An easy four or four-and-a-half hour drive took us about six when we ran into a blizzard about 120 miles from Detroit. Poor George drove the whole way listening to my music while I dozed off with my feet up.Â
The hotel and playing area seem perfectly nice. Our room is big and bright, nice view of the river and Windsor, express elevators. I’m very frustrated with Marriott — another property that claims to be wireless but isn’t really. Otherwise, looks like we’ll have a great time in Motor City.Â
I was a bit of a wreck yesterday — on short sleep, stiff and achy from the ride, crabbier than I had any right to be, I managed nothing more than to grind through the last 800 pages of a book I’ve been reading.  George, who worked all day Tuesday then drove all night, had to get up and play championship bridge. Which he did: he and Claude qualified 14th for today’s final.Â
Today’s a pretty quiet day, tomorrow it’s Open Pairs. I’m playing with Sue Picus and looking forward to it, George is playing with Norberto. For the first time ever, the idea that I might play against my husband doesn’t terrify me. That’s progress, right?

Red - stiff back or not, you look gorgeous! I just LOVE the new hairdo!
Geo is fearful he might have to play against YOU. If you do - BEAT HIM UP!!
