Loading ...making myself nervous
Back from an unbelievable vacation in Mexico, all tan and mostly rested, ready to get back to work. I started a little short story while I was away, it’ll wrap in the next couple of days. Played a few hands yesterday with Shannon — I was an unmitigated disaster — and today with Sue I wasn’t much better. Turns out I haven’t actually played any bridge since San Francisco and am (ahem) rusty.
Meeting Shannon, Justin and Sherry Jackson in Williamsburg, VA next week and these couple of nightmare practices are making me nervous. The good news is I’ve been here before; like working out (and writing fiction, strangely), the first couple of outings after a break can be long and painful ones. Lots of bridge coming up, including another stab at the Chicago Invitational Pairs with George on the 25th.  Have to focus.
