Loading ...rocky third set
Spent the early evening watching the train wreck that has been the third set of boards in the USA1 match. With two deals to come we’re down 51 to 26 to South Africa — retaining the overall lead, its true, but for quite a while in the middle of the match the momentum definitely shifted.
It’s tough to watch when things go against us, but I’m powerless to look away. What impresses me so much is this: my boys bled imps in the middle of the set — 30 across boards 6, 7 and 8. Turned right around to pick up 20 on 9 and 10. That’s the key: being able to put the past behind.
