on the verge
We’ve been waiting for this moment for … sixteen months. I spent most of those months being pretty adamant that we should plan to arrive in China a week or so before the tournament begins. Seemed awfully daunting, acclimating to a twelve- or thirteen-hour time difference. Now that we’ve been here for a couple of days (hate to admit it, but I am still not sure what day it is or how long we’ve been here) with nothing in particular to do, I’m glad George didn’t listen to me.
Finally on the verge of getting this party started. Geo and company had a team meeting late yesterday afternoon, then we went out with Chip and Jan Martel and the Katz’s to a terrific (Chinese) restaurant in a very happening part of town. The French Concession hops at night, we’re planning to go back often. Opening ceremonies tonight, play starts tomorrow. They’ll play three matches: Nickell, then Ireland, then Australia.
I heard from Jan that they’re planning to carry eight tables on BBO. Think USA1 v. USA2 will be one of them?

We miss you guys! Will be watching you on VG. Sox have started winning since you left town … I guess you were right, Stace. You just had to go farther than Hinsdale to make it happen. LOL… Cubs won tonight and Milwaukee is losing. It looks like that’s a done deal too. I know Geo will be happy. He wanted excitement but he wanted the Cubs and the magic number is ONE. If Brewers lose, it drops to ZERO. The city is ready for a celebration. So be it. Keep in touch and most important, have fun. We will be rooting for you.

See? As soon as we leave, things turn around!
Cubs clinched, woo hoo!
My second-favorite daydream is to bring home a winner from Shanghai in time to see the Cubs win the World Series.
I’ll see you on BBO -
