Leaving this morning for a few days in LA, shopping & eating and toasting a friend who recently celebrated a big birthday. While I’m really looking forward to the trip, I’m also dreading the separation — things are changing quickly around here and by the time I get back we’ll be almost completely Tara-free. After I booked this trip, SuperNanny found her next job — she’ll celebrate her last day on Friday. It’s a good/bad thing; she’s been my childcare partner since my little kid was four months old, and we will all miss her terribly even though she’s only moving across town.
I’m taking my computer and my fiction journal, a swimsuit, one outfit suitable for working out (which I vaguely intend to bring home unused), my pillow, a few books, the new Bazaar which arrived yesterday with Kate Hudson on the cover, and my cell phone owners manual which should tell me how to text snapshots to my pen pal. Wait. Don’t hold your breath for that - it’s unlike me to take snapshots of celebrities.
Back Saturday in the late afternoon, Sunday back at US Cellular Field. Sox have won two in a row. Woo hoo!
