Leaving today to get the Big Kid from gymnastics camp. It’s been a quick two weeks since Nashville; I found some time to re-engage with my non-bridge life and get ready for the big fall ahead. The next couple of weeks are pretty intense, long weekend way up north, then quick trip to Boston (Way to go, Jen Jewell) before school starts. Then China on the horizon.

“The game of contract bridge is to poker as literary fiction is to chick-lit. The one is erudite, charming, intelligent and full of redeeming social purpose. The other makes all the money.”

- Sandy Balfour, Wall Street Journal, Aug 4 2007

This morning I decided to set aside my copy of the new Harry Potter in order to read The Backwash Squeeze. Look for a review early next week, when we come down from the distant North into the land of omnipresent WiFi.
