Yesterday was a tough day. We played 4 of the players on the Dutch national team and lost in the end by 1. It was a crazy and fun set of boards and we fought hard — my team played so great this week — we kept it close against Jimmy Cayne and the Italians, the Dutch national team, Carolyn Lynch. Didn’t expect to win the women’s KO, just wanted to beat that team we played yesterday.
George lost a tough one in the round of 64, but he’s more disappointed in my result than his. (He’s great that way.) Heading for home tomorrow, can’t wait to see my kids, travel with my sister-in-law, work on my manuscript and sleep in my own bed.
On to San Francisco.
