handicap
Shannon and I played last night in a handicap game and since we had twice as many tops as bottoms we managed to avoid finishing last. Lots of interesting things came up, including this crazy hand.
I held:Â T / Tx / QTx / AKQTxxx
Partner opened 1S, righty said double. I chose redouble. Lefty bid 3D and partner bid 4H. When righty passed, it was up to me.
What would you do now?

I’d have to bid 5C. Partner has at most 1 diamond and the worst distribution partner can have for you is 6-5-1-1 (though I think 5-5-1-2/5-5-0-3 is more likely). This should give you timing to setup either hearts or spades for pitches.
If partner happens to be 6-6-1-0, I expect a 5H bid.

This is a really tough hand. Since 3H over 3D would be forcing, 4H may be just a very distributional minimum. Certainly with any 6-5 hand one would insist on being in game opposite a redouble.
This is further compounded by the likelihood that there may be 4 hearts on your right and 4 spades on your left.
I think the choices are between pass and 5C. Either or both could be successful or both could be unsuccessful. I am leaning toward passing and at least being a trick lower.
