beautiful
Travel day was uneventful — we flew Ted (United’s poor relation), our bags arrived, there was no miles-long line to get a car. That wasn’t an accident — George (who reads the blog from time to time) planned it really well and I appreciated it. I’m a bit like an overfull soup terrine: I don’t travel well.
I skipped The Cavendish last year, so this is my first time at The Green Valley Ranch. I swear I may never leave, it’s gorgeous here. Add an ocean, a balcony, a kitchen and my cherubs and I’m set for a good long time. You can have the Vegas strip and all the glitz and silicone that goes with it.
This doesn’t seem like a bridge tournament yet. While we were eating Chinese (surprise, surprise), we saw Ralph & Martha Katz, Gary Cohler, Bjorn & Kathy Fallenius, Richie Schwartz & Margie Gwozdzinsky. We figured things would start up around noon, but I just checked the schedule and it looks like George needs to be up and ready quite a bit earlier. I’m tentatively planning to sit out the first set … as in out by the pool. Cheers!

Hey, Stacey! Can you let us know who the leading pairs in the silent auction are?
By the way, I love Green Valley Ranch. It’s absolutely beautiful, and they also have better gambling opportunities than most places on the strip. If you are bored, you can find some of the best games here:
