to the airport soon to pick up the beloved bridge partner. Originally planned to play a club game tonight, but Shannon’s flight is delayed and so we’ll get to enjoy a long, lazy dinner instead. Maybe a midnight game against George and Ralph (unlikely, but not impossible). Tomorrow begins a solid month of bridge leading up to the trials.  There are some very strong teams in the women’s field, so I’m determined to go in playing my best.
Our teammates will appreciate the Bulls recent sweep of the defending basketball champs — we were in danger of having to go to the playoffs on Tuesday night instead of practicing! But alas, there are no games this week to distract me from the business at hand: getting ready to play championship bridge.
