my kind of town
A cool thing happened last weekend — all three of our teams won. We went to the first playoff game (basketball) and saw the still-building Bulls beat a tired, ragged defending champion; George scored sweet courtside tickets so we couldn’t have had more fun. The Cubs and White Sox both won as well, against the defending champion on the north side and the World Series loser across town. Okay, the Sox played in Detroit — it would have been cooler if they’d all won at home, but I’m a simple girl …
We were back last night for more Bulls - Heat excitement; I was pretty sure we’d simply seen a travel-weary Miami team in Game 1 and I figured that after a long weekend to rest they’d come out tonight and teach the local boys how to play. 107 -89, Bulls. Guaranteed one more game at the United Center. Yay!
Supposed to see the Sox and Tigers tonight at US Cellular Field, but it’s raining. The boys of summer pulled out a big win last night, apparently. I fell asleep before the carnage in the 7th, from which the Sox had to battle back. 9-7 final, yikes! I’m guessing they’ll get an extra day to rest. We’ve got tons of baseball coming up — tonight (?!), Friday night, Sunday afternoon.
The ballgames this week, fun as they are, are nothing compared with our particular joy: tomorrow the littlest Jacobs turns six.

yeh, the weather forecast for the weekend games is much friendlier. perhaps the rain will go away. however, the cold is probably going to stick around. sigh.
